Back in the day...
In the summer of 2013 at the California Summer School for the Arts, I was taught that when making art and films the content should come from a very personal place. It was the first time I was away from home for such a long period by myself, so I decided to dedicate my short animated project to Puerto Rico and how much I missed the sounds of the Coqui frogs.
That film became "Coqui Serenade", a small paper cutout film done in the span of a week and I felt it embodied what I wanted to do with my art in the future by sharing with others where I was from and make people feel at home with storytelling.
